Turn the space you already own into an income unit

Abodra is built for property owners adding a rental unit to a lot they already own: a garage conversion, a backyard ADU, a basement suite. Abodra Studio lets you sketch the unit in 3D with an AI assistant, run a Buildability Check against residential code, and see a rent estimate for the exact home you drew. When you are ready to hand the project to a builder or designer, Abodra Pro packages the technical side: 2D drafting, IFC and DXF export, and a compliance assistant that cites the code it quotes. Same cloud project on both sides, so nothing is re-drawn or lost in the handoff. Rent and cost figures are estimates, not advice; permits still run through your local building department.

Meet the team

A small team building software for people adding a rental unit to a lot they already own. Every rule we ship cites the code passage behind it.

  • Alex Iordache

    FOUNDER, PRODUCT & ENGINEERING

Building the tools he wished existed while designing his own backyard ADU. Prior work in 3D pipelines and developer tooling.

  • The Abodra circle

    ADVISORS, ARCHITECTS, CONTRACTORS

Every Buildability rule cites the code passage it comes from, so you can check it yourself. We are building an advisory circle of practicing architects and residential contractors to help us review rule packs over time. Today, the checks are code citations interpreted by our team, not professional legal advice.

Attribution

The Studio editor's UX patterns, visual design language, and scene-graph shape are derived from the open-source Pascal Editor (MIT) by pascalorg and contributors. We implement our own React Three Fiber engine and do not bundle @pascal-app/* packages. BIM and CAD dependencies (That Open Engine, web-ifc, CadView, pdf.js) are listed in THIRD_PARTY.md.

License

The upstream Pascal Editor is released under the MIT License. Abodra plans to release the Studio engine under MIT as well. The hosted Abodra service, brand, templates, generated marketing assets, and paid features are proprietary and covered by our Terms of Service. See LICENSE in the repository for the engine license and scope note.
